The rules for using Canonyx.
Last updated: 24 June 2026
These Terms and Conditions explain how visitors may use Canonyx, how Canonyx content may be accessed, and the boundaries that apply to comments, external links, speculation, intellectual property and site availability.
Canonyx is an editorial gaming and speculation website. These terms are designed to be clear, practical and proportionate for a small publication, while still protecting the site, its content and its visitors.
1. Agreement to these terms
By visiting, browsing or using Canonyx, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.
These terms apply to all visitors, readers, commenters and users of Canonyx. They should be read alongside the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
2. About Canonyx
Canonyx is an editorial website focused on gaming, speculation, commentary, future-content ideas, character analysis and pop culture discussion.
Canonyx content may include opinion, prediction, interpretation, speculation, humour, analysis and creative concepts. Unless clearly stated otherwise, Canonyx articles should not be treated as official news, official announcements, confirmed leaks or professional advice.
3. No official affiliation
Canonyx is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or officially connected to Nintendo, Disney, Pixar, Sega, Square Enix, Gameloft, Microsoft, Sony, Bandai Namco, The Pokémon Company, or any other rights holder discussed on the site, unless expressly stated.
All trademarks, character names, game titles, logos, images, brands and other intellectual property referenced on Canonyx belong to their respective owners. References are made for commentary, criticism, analysis, reporting, speculation or descriptive purposes.
4. Canonyx content and intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the original articles, written commentary, site copy, Canonyx branding, original graphics, layouts and editorial presentation on Canonyx are owned by Canonyx or used under permission, licence or applicable legal exception.
You may read, share and link to Canonyx content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not copy, scrape, reproduce, republish, sell, modify, redistribute or commercially exploit substantial parts of Canonyx content without prior written permission.
Short quotations may be used where legally permitted and properly attributed, provided they are not misleading and do not suggest endorsement by Canonyx.
5. Permitted use of the site
You may use Canonyx for lawful, personal and non-commercial purposes. This includes reading articles, sharing links, discussing content and leaving comments where comments are enabled.
You must not use Canonyx in a way that damages the site, disrupts other visitors, attempts to gain unauthorised access, introduces malware, overloads the service, harvests data, impersonates others or breaches applicable law.
6. Comments and visitor contributions
Where comments are enabled, visitors are responsible for the comments they submit. Comments should be relevant, lawful and respectful.
By submitting a comment, you confirm that you have the right to post it and grant Canonyx a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, reproduce, moderate and publish that comment in connection with the site.
Canonyx may edit, refuse, remove or report comments at its discretion, including comments that are abusive, spammy, unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, harassing, threatening, misleading, promotional, off-topic, infringing or otherwise unsuitable for the site.
7. Prohibited behaviour
You must not use Canonyx to post, send, link to or distribute anything that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, threatening, invasive of privacy, infringing, malicious, sexually exploitative, spam-related or designed to interfere with the site.
You must not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, copy, mass-download, interfere with, bypass security for, or commercially exploit Canonyx or its content without permission.
8. Accuracy, speculation and editorial opinion
Canonyx aims to publish thoughtful, accurate and clearly presented editorial content. However, articles may include speculation, interpretation, humour, opinion, prediction and creative analysis.
Gaming information can change over time. Rumours may prove false, updates may alter older articles, and future announcements may make previous speculation outdated. Canonyx does not guarantee that all content will always be complete, current or error-free.
Canonyx articles should not be treated as official confirmation from any game developer, publisher, rights holder, platform holder or entertainment company.
9. External links and embedded content
Canonyx may link to external websites, stores, social platforms, videos, posts, images, databases or other third-party resources. External links are provided for context, credit, discussion or convenience.
Canonyx does not control external websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, privacy practices, security, advertising, cookies or terms of use.
Embedded content from third-party platforms may behave as if you visited that third-party platform directly.
10. Privacy and cookies
Canonyx may process visitor information through WordPress.com, Jetpack, comments, anti-spam tools, analytics, cookies, sharing features and related site functionality.
For details about personal data, cookies, visitor rights and contact information, please read the Privacy & Cookies Policy.
11. Site availability and changes
Canonyx may update, remove, revise, archive, restructure or discontinue any part of the site or its content at any time.
Canonyx does not guarantee that the site will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, compatible with every device, or free from technical issues. Access may be affected by maintenance, hosting changes, WordPress.com services, third-party tools or circumstances outside Canonyx’s control.
12. Liability
Canonyx is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canonyx excludes liability for loss or damage arising from use of the site, reliance on content, temporary unavailability, external links, visitor comments, technical issues or third-party services.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
13. Changes to these terms
Canonyx may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page, with the update date shown near the top.
Continued use of Canonyx after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless a mandatory law gives you additional rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Any dispute relating to these terms or the use of Canonyx will be handled by the courts of England and Wales, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
